Passing by streets of Perth at afternoon around Northbridge, I witnessed something alarming yet beautiful in a way that is not questionable.
i saw two high school kids, a girl and boy sitting by corner of apartment, indulging themselves in conversation and passing burning smoke to each other and laughs at blowing smokes.
it almost reminds me the time when I read Lolita, a controversial book and also in form of motion picture directed by Stanley Kubrick, tells the story of a English teacher who does what it takes to have relationship with an underage girl named Lolita, although the book topic is outrageous, the topic is taboo and immoral in many ways, it is also told so beautiful that almost hypnosis the reader not a question anything about it, even after the book has ended.
it is a issue that is acknowledged, like Racism, often many scholars have noted acknowledging racism can lead to better control of it that avoiding it at all times.
Smoking for underage is also same, it exist out there, it happens everyday, we May say “don’t do it”, “you will be punished badly” – we need to seek why it happens and how.
This issue is also widespread in Iran, as reported by Irna(2012) approximately 24% of smokers are below the legal age which includes 20% males and 4% female, current statistics are unknown – i would assume the numbers have either increased or have remained relatively same- the reason is that Regime does make some rules and impos bans on smoking in public areas and issue fines for such matters but these laws are both ignored by people and authorities themselves, in contrast we see that as reported by Intergovernmental Committee on Drugs, National Tobacco Strategy after 2014 campaign in Australia the rate of smoking between youth has been continuously declining, higher taxes, advertising, longer education requirements have all shows their influence on this matter.
althoguh the issue remains in society by small margins, you could say in ways, the youth are either affected by peer pressure, adulthood or simply looking for reliving stress.
Another issue rises from the term SOCIAL SMOKING, as discussed by Archives of Internal Medicine 169 (19), 1742-1744, 2009, these groups do not categories them self’s as smokers, rather they are also excluded from researches specifically nicotine dependent studies since they result in fluctuating data’s but studies also suggest they are at risk too.
Back to the top, I think I see a certain beauty in it, it’s like a glass of wine for this two young people, it’s like a talking pillow, it’s like something in common, it’s like a young love and perhaps beginning to a long lasting relationship, who knows? Sometimes me and my girlfriend look back going things we have done, laughs about it and see where are we now and how things have changed. I do not by any mean encourage people to smoke, my point is simply that it forges a strong bond- yes many other things can, but “things” can be different for anyone. Somehow army of two may be better than one since You will always know there is hand that helps you and a shoulder to cry on.

im in favour or people acknowledge issues exist and accept responsibility or be responsible for providing a healthier environment and information. I hope for the day that Iranian police takes the issue seriously and fake into action of youth smoking instead of avoiding it. Perhaps in other crazy ways, it’s a conspiracy- let people be drunk and dependent on drugs so they won’t know our corruptions and crimes in Iran ?
