Studies have suggested Iran has one of the lowest attendence to Mosques, Iranian people are very secular in terms of daily lives which is result of how our culture and political situation has been shaped since King era all the way to a more restrictive society after Iranian Islamic revolution. This secularism has resulted in numerous issues in society. People tend to create smaller and restrictive lives for themselves because simply they can go on, on a day without being someone else. Constantly we have to take off and put on our masks as we enter and exit our homes. In the era social networking many people have revealed their privacy in degrees to society, but government has been sitting around without response.
one I was told by my grandmother who used to work as nurse during and after revolution- that the more you keep someone from achieving something, the more their desire for breaking any law to reach what they need grows.
as a result, Iranian people often tend to reject many things but also tend to act they are bonded to them, such a theory have been supported by many studies done by credible scholars and books in past years.
but from perspective of me, As someone whose aware of Iranian affairs, i would like to mention a significant portion of this issue is caused by government. Rather than parent, government in Iran is more like a puppeteer. They use people as shield and toys and back themselves up against forgone claims. It has been more than dozen times where Rouhani, Ahmadinejad and many other high ranking leaders have acknowledged that protest in Iran are mostly result of people’s anger from American sanction, it may be partial true but if you listen close to people slogans during protest you can hear they subject the being at faults, the government itself. But the real question is that how western and European powers would use such things to back their own claims. Most of the time they address “we are along with people of Iran” and in return Iranian Regime notes “it’s all a game” – among all these tensions, in the end the victims are only people and people themselves. Wether sanctions existed or not, many in regime have utilised money to support terrorism, others have made themselves rich and bought mansions and houses overseas, some didn’t play a good roles and were prosecuted or subjected to death penalty such as Babak Zanjani whose case is still filled with many holes. And then there are people, who get poorer and poorer every single day without spending any money.
basically there are two group of people:
1. People who like to buy product A becuase they need it, produce A was 10 dollar and now it’s 20 dollar suddenly, you still going to buy it because they need it, by the time they arrive at shop it’s 30 dollar somehow, you will say no choice I’ll buy and I’ll buy 10 of it because tmr it be 60 dollars- perhaps I can resell and make money too ?
This summerizes a sick and non functional economic
2. I can’t buy it, I’m trying not to spend any money but somehow I’m ending up losing all my money becuase the value of money itself is sinking hourly
and other groups and basically not the majority.
and In the end these two group plus the entire other groups are bound to a single thing
“we have to lie to survive”
because if we don’t
we will be subject to harassment and punishment-
