Sinner’s Eye

During School years in Iran, our religious study teachers have thought us about Sinner’s Eyes. They have told us do not look directly at Woman and Girls face, do not look if they are not covered properly because at the Ghiamat day (which is particularly similar to Rapture day at Christianity) god will see us as a sinner with Sinner’s Eyes. We will be condemned to an Eternal punishment of servants of Hell where they will constantly take our eyes off using burning forks each day and make us look at our sins again and again.

Woman’s right are severely restricted in Iran, as reported by Human rights multiple times each year and through their reports.

Each year many woman including children are subject to harassment, physical and verbal and sexual abuse from their families and other men. This issue has been constantly appearing over many years in Iran, but there is a reason on why laws have not yet been updated to properly support the argument that Domestic Violence must not be considered legal and it should be taken as illegal and against the law.

For you to have an Initial understanding  John C. Raines & Daniel C. Maguire (Ed), Farid Esack, What Men Owe to Women: Men’s Voices from World Religions, State University of New York (2001), see pages 201-203 has explained briefly on why Islam actually encourages Domestic Violence in different levels. Islam in Quran claims that Domestic Violence is a teaching tool.

have a look at AL-NISA along with English translation from a respectable source. CLICK HERE. as you can see, this particular text tells you if you wives are not obedient enough, simply strike them till they become obedient enough. “This verse became an issue of debate and controversy because of the ethics of the modern age, the universal notions of human rights,” said Khaled Abou El Fadl, an Egyptian-born law professor and Islamic scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles. (Times Magazine). I do accept that emitology of translation affects such matters and causes people to question this particular verse, but the real question is that even with variety of translation does the same idea stays same? the answer is indeed YES, in many translation of this verse, the core and idealogy remained same. I do want to question whether God himself, actually encourages sexism, striking and war among man ? or this is simply ideas of a very smart man who claimed these were whispered to him from a voice of above? simply to place him in an advantageous situation at the time of his life. I do wanna mention that not only in Iran many judges have ordered Divorce Applications to be invalid due to this life but also even in other parts of world the same thing has occurred.

Cited this from Times Magazine:

n Germany last week, a judge citing the verse caused a public outcry after she rejected the request for a fast-track divorce by a Moroccan-German woman because her husband beat her. The judge, who was removed from the case, wrote that the Koran sanctioned physical abuse.

Can you believe in this modern day, we are still closing our eyes on such things simply because one has claimed the passage is from an unquestionable source of power?

I do wanna point out to me it seems Sinner’s eyes belong to others not us that may have, as our natural needs have looked at woman, or have watched porn or have read sexualized material. The same god that has written the passage, has given us the same sexual desires, it may make sense if the challenge is to control our needs morally, but to allow it as an excuse for making people obedient seems more like an action that would be subject for advantages of persons in particular times.

I would simply say, the sinner eyes belong to all the people who respect such a verse, I believe these people will be subject to Molten forks chugging their eyes out.

So if you believe in afterlife, please prepare for your eternal punishment !
